Apart from a four-year stint in New Zealand, I grew up in Belle Plaine, MN, and picked up a guitar for the first time as a high school freshman. Not long after that, some high school friends and I started a band so we could play covers at the local bars. Around the time of my freshman year at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD, we decided original music is where it is at, and we shifted our attention from covers to writing our own tunes for our band, Horseplay.

While students at SDSU, Horseplay recorded two full-length albums and played our brand of Roots Rock and Roll around the Midwest. Sometimes, people even came to the shows, allowing us to make tens of dollars.

I moved to Fargo in the spring of 2017 and have spent the time since writing, recording and performing as a solo artist. For the past yearish, I have been working on my debut album (EP? I’m not exactly sure) on weekends and whenever time allows. The project, titled Call It Whatever You Want, is set for release on October 9th, 2020.
